Founded by Maya Selva in 1999 in the volcanic highlands of Nicaragua’s Jalapa Valley, Cumpay gained recognition after receiving the title ‘Best Cigar Brand’ in 2000. Cumpay, derived from the Tawahka Indian name for ‘rolled tobacco leaf’, produces mild- to medium-bodied cigar in Honduras-based Tabaco Segovia factory, carefully rolled with 100% pure Nicaraguan tobacco leaves and well-oiled wrapping for a the aromatic scent of roasted coffee, hazelnuts and leather.
