The Santa Clara cigar brand was born in the volcanic valley of San Andrés Tuxtla, Mexico, renowned worldwide for its premium cigar leaves cultivated in high-potassium soil. Established in 1967 by Jorge Ortiz Alvarez, the brand strictly adheres to a nine-step traditional process: from seedbed cultivation and volcanic soil farming to natural sun-curing, double fermentation, cellar aging, and finally hand-bunching and rolling by master artisans. The cigar's cap is uniquely crafted from the original wrapper leaf without any cutting, symbolizing artisanal excellence, with rigorous quality control throughout production. Exported to over a dozen countries across Europe and the Americas, Santa Clara upholds the philosophy of "slow craftsmanship for exquisite aroma," blending centuries-old techniques to become a cultural heritage representative of Mexican cigars.
